NOAA Seeks Comments on Proposed New Human Use and Non-Use Survey

NOAA today announced that it is seeking comments by Monday, Jan. 8 on its intention to seek Office of Management and Budget approval to conduct a new survey to collect human use and socioeconomic data and information from users and non-users of marine areas, and “fulfill the mandates” of laws including the National Marine Sanctuaries Act, Coastal Zone Management Act, and Magnuson-Stevens Act, among others.

The proposed 10-60 minute survey involves an estimated 30,383 respondents and 7,689 annual burden hours.
