NOAA Extends Deadline for Partnership Proposals

NOAA’s Office of Coast Survey today announced that it is extending the deadline for proposals through Friday, Nov. 12 for non-federal entities interested in partnering with NOAA ocean and coastal mapping programs on jointly funded FY 2023 ocean and coastal surveys and related activities of mutual interest, including for safe navigation, integrated mapping, coastal zone management, coastal and ocean science, climate preparedness, and infrastructure investments.

Proposals will be reviewed for alignment with goals to map the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone, expand Alaska coastal data collection, and map the full extent of U.S. waters to modern standards.

If appropriated funds are available, NOAA will match funds contributed by selected entities for ocean and coastal surveys (anticipates matching 2-5 survey projects at 50%, up to $1 million per project, with decisions on proposals issued in January 2022 and projects completed within 2 years).  NOAA will also manage survey planning, quality-assure data and products, provide data and products to partners on an agreed-upon timeframe, and handle data submission to the National Centers for Environmental Information for archiving and public accessibility.
