Northeast Regional Planning Body Reschedules Meeting, Seeks Input

The Northeast Regional Planning Body has announced that its meeting that was originally scheduled to take place on November 12-13, 2013 in the Boston, MA area will now take place on January 22-23, 2014.

According to the announcement, the January meeting will include a public review, revision, and approval of goals, objectives, and accompanying actions for ocean planning in the Northeast region, as well as a public comment session.  In advance of the next meeting, the RPB is seeking comments on a draft document that includes new language on Northeast regional ocean planning goals, objectives, and actions that the RPB says “builds on previous…discussions and the extensive public input” it has received since initial draft goals, actions, and outcomes were released for comment in May.  Comments on the new draft document will be included in a comment summary that the RPB will make available before the January meeting takes place.

The 2010 National Ocean Policy Executive Order tasks the Northeast Regional Planning Body with developing a coastal and marine spatial plan for Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
