Oversight Field Hearing On Strengthening U.S. Fisheries and Economy Set for Aug. 25

The U.S. House Natural Resources Committee will hold a field hearing in Panama City, Florida on Saturday, August 25 to discuss “Fishing=Jobs: How Strengthening America’s Fisheries Strengthens Our Economy.”

According to the announcement, the Committee “has identified a number of challenges and impediments to fully utilizing the fishery resources of the Gulf of Mexico,” and this hearing will give Members a chance to examine, among other things, the extent to which government programs “including catch shares, annual catch limits, and the National Ocean Policy – will affect how fisheries are harvested in the future.”
A witness list will be made available once it is confirmed.
