USCG Announces FY 2024 Accounting of Recreational Boating Safety Program

The Coast Guard recently announced the funding amounts that have been committed, obligated, or expended during FY 2024 for projects, programs, and activities under the Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act’s recreational boating safety program.

Of the $15.061 million made available to the Coast Guard in FY 2024, $0 was committed, obligated, or expended, with $9.659 million of prior fiscal year funds having been committed, obligated, or expended, and an additional $8 million allocated to the states.

The remainder of the ~$17 million in funds made available to the Coast Guard for FY 2023 and 2024 may be retained for the allowable period for the National Recreational Boating Survey, the expected reengineering of the Boating Accident and Reporting Database, and other projects, or it may be transferred into the pool of funding available for allocation through the state grant program.
