NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service today announced that the Pacific Fishery Management Council’s Ad Hoc Marine Planning Committee will hold a virtual public meeting on Tuesday, June 6.
Agenda items include consideration of draft Wind Energy Areas (WEAs) off Oregon that are expected to be released for public review and comment, a NOAA briefing on the spatial suitability modeling and data used to identify the WEAs, and a Bureau of Ocean Energy Management briefing on the process and next steps in offshore wind energy planning off Oregon.
The Committee will also discuss pending Fisheries Communications Plans for five California offshore wind leases provisionally awarded in Dec. 2022.
