The Coast Guard today announced the availability of a Policy Letter effective Oct. 28 that provides guidance on Coast Guard acceptance of certain industry-recognized standards for commercial diving operations as providing a level of safety that is equivalent to the requirements in Coast Guard regulations.
The action follows a request from the Association of Diving Contractors International and the International Marine Contractors Association requesting a review of their standards and the issuance of the Policy Letter.
