The Interior Department today announced that it is seeking comments and information by Friday, June 20 to help identify existing regulations that can be modified or repealed to ensure that DOI administrative actions do not undermine the national interest and that DOI achieves a meaningful reduction in regulatory hurdles while continuing to meet statutory obligations, advance U.S. energy independence, and ensure the responsible stewardship of public lands and resources.
In seeking public feedback, DOI notes directives in the President’s Executive Orders on Unleashing American Energy, Unleashing Prosperity through Deregulation, and Ensuring Lawful Regulation and Implementing the President’s ‘Department of Government Efficiency’ Deregulatory Agenda, as well as the Secretarial Order on Unleashing American Energy.
