The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service today announced that the Aquatic Nuisance Species Task Force will hold a virtual public meeting May 24-26.
The meeting agenda includes reports from Task Force members, regional panels, and subcommittees, discussion on priority outputs to advance Task Force goals included in the 2020-2025 Strategic Plan, a U.S. Geological Survey presentation on new species occurrences in the U.S., recommendations by Task Force regional panels, and public comment.
Established by the Nonindigenous Aquatic Nuisance Prevention and Control Act of 1990 and composed of federal and ex-officio members, the Task Force’s purpose is to develop and implement a program for U.S. waters to prevent introduction and dispersal of aquatic invasive species, to monitor, control, and study such species, and to disseminate related information.
