NOAA today announced that its Science Advisory Board will hold a public meeting on Apr. 26-27 in Silver Spring, MD and July 26-27 in Costa Mesa, CA.
The April meeting will include NOAA and NOAA science updates, presentations of the Climate Working Group’s Climate & Air Quality and Emerging Hazards & Vulnerabilities reports, presentations on NOAA’s response to the Leadership in Coastal Resilience Report and Tsunami Science and Technology Advisory Panel’s 1st quadrennial report, and SAB Working Group updates.
The July meeting will consideration of updates and reports and NOAA responses on topics contained in the SAB Work Plan.
The SAB is the only Federal Advisory Committee with the responsibility to advice the Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere and NOAA Administration on long and short-range strategies for research, education, and application of science to resource management and environmental assessment and prediction.
