The Interior Dept.’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management today announced that comments are being sought by Friday, May 6 on a draft Environmental Assessment of the potential impacts of commercial wind energy leasing and related site characterization and assessment activities in the Morro Bay Wind Energy Area, ~20 miles off the Central California coast.
BOEM Pacific Office Regional Director Doug Boren called public feedback “an important part of our process under the National Environmental Policy Act,” and said that the agency “will analyze and consider all comments before we finalize our analysis.”
In conjunction with the public comment period, BOEM will hold webinars on Thursday, Apr. 14 (5:00 pm Pacific) and Tuesday, Apr. 19 (9:00 am Pacific).
