The White House today announced President Biden’s intent to nominate Martha Williams to serve as Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Williams currently serves as Principal Deputy Director of the Fish & Wildlife Service, with previous experience including positions as Director of the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks, Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Montana’s Blewett School of Law, and Deputy Solicitor for Parks and Wildlife at the U.S. Interior Department.
In commenting on the nomination, Interior Sec. Deb Haaland said that she looks forward to continuing to work with Williams “as the Department carries out its mission to protect America’s most precious resources and as we answer President Biden’s call to action to conserve, connect, and restore the lands, waters, and wildlife upon which we all depend on.”
