NOPC Submits Comments on Draft Updated Framework for the National System of MPAs of the U.S.

The National Ocean Policy Coalition today submitted comments on NOAA’s Draft Updated Framework for the National System of Marine Protected Areas of the United States.  The Coalition’s comments focused on concerns regarding language in the proposed Framework that suggests a potential role for Regional Planning Bodies created under the National Ocean Policy in the establishment of new marine protected areas (MPAs) or MPA networks.
