Northeast RPB Announces Workshop, Public Meeting
The Northeast Regional Planning Body will hold a Natural Resources Workshop and its fourth official public meeting in Cambridge, MA on June 25-26, 2014. Workshop/meeting registration is accessible here.
In addition to public comment opportunities, the RPB meeting will include an update on ongoing Northeast planning activities, including efforts to identify options for interagency coordination and the use of regional data, as well as consideration of options for technical and stakeholder input into ocean planning decisions.
The workshop will address natural resource assessments for ocean planning that will inform ocean planning work in the Northeast, with the RPB seeking input on how it proceeds with specific actions to characterize the region’s ecosystem, its species, and habitats.
Established in 2012 pursuant to the National Ocean Policy Executive Order, the Northeast RPB was formed to develop a coastal and marine plan for Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. NROC is a regional ocean partnership that was formed in 2005 by the Governors of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
