NOAA today announced that the Hydrographic Services Review Panel will hold a public meeting on Mar. 5-7 in San Pedro, CA (also accessible virtually).
Agenda items include recent National Ocean Service activities including the update to the National Spatial Reference System, the status of NOAA’s navigation services in the context of recent federal laws including the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Inflation Reduction Act, and National Defense Authorization Act, flooding and sea level change measurement, monitoring, and mitigation, and NOAA navigation data, products, and services that enable economic growth and impact safe navigation.
The Panel is a federal advisory committee that advises the NOAA Administrator on oceanographic and marine technologies relating to operations, research and development, and data dissemination pertaining to hydrographic surveying, shoreline surveying, nautical charting, water level, current, geodetic, geospatial, and geomagnetic measurements, and other oceanographic/marine-related sciences.
