The Mid-Atlantic Regional Council on the Ocean’s (MARCO) Committee on the Ocean announced today that it will hold its 4th annual Mid-Atlantic Ocean Forum virtually on May 5-6 (registration and additional details will be available soon).
The Forum will begin with an open plenary on sustainable ocean management, with Day 1 focusing on sustainable ocean ecosystems, and specifically effective conservation strategies that ensure sustainable management and protection and sustainable use, with an emphasis on connecting science, people, and conservation products with outcomes.
Day 2 will focus on planning for sustainable ocean economy, with topics including (1) increased demand for ocean space while sustaining port access and maritime navigation, and (2) offshore wind energy transmission, supply chain, port infrastructure, and other support needs.
