The Defense Dept. today announced that Major Gen. Randy “Church” Kee (USAF, Ret.) will serve as Senior Advisor for Arctic Security Affairs to assist with the establishment of the Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies, which is being created to build global networks of security leaders to advance U.S. national security priorities in the Arctic. The announcement also noted that Kee will also “work with partner nations to ensure a stable, rules-based order in the Arctic that will benefit the United States and all Arctic nations.”
Kee has served on the U.S. Arctic Research Commission since 2020, with previous experience including positions with the Arctic Domain Awareness Center, Woodrow Wilson Polar Institute, Alaskan Command, Alaska Civilian Armed Services Team, and U.S. European Command.
