The U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s Gulf of Mexico Intergovernmental Renewable Energy Task Force will hold a virtual public meeting on Tuesday, June 15, with meeting objectives including establishment of a common understanding of the Task Force’s role and future activities, an update on recent state activities, and opportunities for public input.
Agenda items include an overview of the renewable energy leasing process, state renewable energy goals, a review of offshore wind jurisdictional authorities, discussion on Gulf of Mexico data information resources and ocean users, and a public comment and discussion opportunity.
The Task Force was established to facilitate education, coordination, and consultation related to renewable energy planning activities in the Western Gulf of Mexico, including through the exchange of information and informing BOEM’s mission to facilitate the responsible development.
