The Interior Department’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management on today announced that it is seeking comments by Monday, June 28 on its proposal to conduct online ~20-minute surveys and ~60-minute interviews to evaluate connections between BOEM’s Environmental Studies Program and the agency’s environmental reviews. The information collection involves an estimated 70 annual interview responses and up to 880 annual online surveys.
BOEM says that the evaluation of linkages between the scientific research it is funding and the information needs associated with the agency’s environmental assessments will help determine how well the feedback loop is functioning and identify potential improvements in the science-to-policy process. It also says that the information collected will be used will help shed light on how BOEM study and assessment information is used and the network through which environmental information is distributed.
