The Northeast Regional Planning Body today announced that its Ecosystem-Based Management Working Group will hold its second meeting from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Eastern on Wednesday, Jan. 6. The location is TBD, but will likely be in the Boston, MA-Providence, RI area.
Following a decision at its June 2015 meeting, the RPB established a 12-member Ecosystem-Based Management Work Group to assist with the development of the draft regional marine plan. According to the group’s Terms of Reference, it will “support and inform a range of activities designed to incorporate additional EBM considerations into the 2016 Northeast Ocean Plan, including the identification and scoping of activities that could be described in the first ocean plan and would be implemented over a longer timeframe.”
Established in 2012 pursuant to the National Ocean Policy Executive Order, the Northeast RPB was formed to develop a coastal and marine plan for Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
