National Ocean Policy Coalition: Mid-Atlantic RPB Releases Jan. 2015 Meeting Materials
In advance of its 3rd formal meeting to be held Jan. 21-22 in New York, NY, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Planning Body (RPB) today released the following meeting materials:

- Updated RPB Timeline
- Proposed Approach to Mid-Atlantic Regional Ocean Action Plan
- Mid-Atlantic Regional Ocean Assessment Outline and Example Sections (deep sea coral, renewable energy, and Panama Canal expansion)
- Potential Data Analyses and Decision Support Tools
- Proposed Process, Criteria, and Examples of Potential Interjurisdictional Coordination Actions
- Memorandum regarding Meeting and 2015-2016 Work Plan (posted Jan. 14)
The objectives of next week’s meeting are to: (1) refine/approve a proposed approach for a Mid-Atlantic Regional Ocean Action Plan; (2) identify related next steps, including a work plan, stakeholder engagement plan, and interjurisdictional coordination opportunities/actions; (3) develop clear and detailed guidance for development of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Ocean Assessment, including areas to prioritize for development in Spring 2015; and (4) share information and receive public input on RPB/Mid-Atlantic ocean planning activities.
Three 45-minute public comment sessions are scheduled to address the proposed approach for the Mid-Atlantic ocean plan, Regional Ocean Assessment outline and example sections, and additional topics including data and analysis tools, interjurisdictional coordination, and RPB next steps.
Registration for those planning to attend is appreciated but not required.
The Mid-Atlantic RPB was formally established in April 2013 and is tasked under the National Ocean Policy Executive Order with developing a coastal and marine spatial plan for Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
