The Northeast Regional Planning Body today announced dates for a series of public events to provide updates on their planning activities and discuss two topics slated for the agenda at the RPB’s formal meeting in November (related to options for moving forward on the “Effective Decision Making” and “Healthy Ocean and Coastal Ecosystems” goals). Additional information and event materials are available here.
Meetings have been scheduled in Portsmouth, NH (Oct. 6), Belfast, ME (Oct. 8), Narragansett, RI (Oct. 15), New Haven, CT (Oct. 20), and Boston, MA (Oct. 27).
In addition, the RPB announced that it will hold a day-long regional forum on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH. During their last meeting in June, the RPB decided to continue with its existing stakeholder engagement activities and create a stakeholder forum in conjunction with certain RPB meetings, rather than establish a standing advisory body. The RPB had planned to hold the stakeholder forum in conjunction with its next official meeting in November, but recently announced that it would instead hold the forum as a stand-alone event in advance of the RPB’s November meeting.
Established in 2012 pursuant to the National Ocean Policy Executive Order, the Northeast RPB was formed to develop a coastal and marine plan for Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
