The Northeast Regional Planning Body today announced that it will host a public webinar from 12:00 – 1:30 pm EDT on Wednesday, Aug. 27 in order to provide updates on the ongoing characterization of fish, marine mammal, bird, and sea turtle distribution and abundance in the Northeast. The RPB also announced that it will hold its fifth meeting in Portsmouth, NH on November 13-14. Among other things, the RPB is expected to consider whether to address the identification of ecologically important areas, ocean health measurement, and tradeoff/ecosystem services analysis, as well as discuss options for using marine life and habitat data that are currently being collected and decide on next steps for implementation of actions under their “Effective Decision-Making” goal. Meeting details are available here.
Established in 2012 pursuant to the National Ocean Policy Executive Order, the Northeast RPB was formed to develop a coastal and marine plan for Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
