During today’s meeting of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST), National Ocean Council Office Director Beth Kerttula participated in an ocean science and policy discussion with Consortium for Ocean Leadership President and CEO Robert Gagosian, and Geochemical and Environmental Research Group Director and Texas A&M University Professor and James Whatley Endowed Geosciences Chair Anthony Knap.
Kerttula’s presentation is available here, and a transcript and webcast of the event are accessible here and here.
Established in 2009, PCAST members are appointed by the President to augment the science and technology advice available given by officials at the White House, cabinet departments, and other federal agencies. The group is consulted on and provides recommendations related to a wide range of issues where understandings from the domains of science, technology, and innovation may bear on the policy choices before the President.
